Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe
Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe was a Polish Conventual Franciscan priest, missionary, and martyr. During the Nazi occupation of Poland, he was imprisoned at Auschwitz, where he offered his life in place of another prisoner. He died on 14 August 1941.
