Privacy policy

PocketPrayers is a free, ad-free Catholic prayer app and website developed by Denver Saldanha. This policy explains the limited information used by the website’s public prayer intentions board and optional website analytics. The mobile app continues to work without an account and stores its preferences locally.

Prayer intentions

Posting is optional. If you choose to post, your intention text and any optional first name and country are published for anyone online to read. Please do not include surnames, contact details, exact addresses, workplaces, schools, hospitals, or information that identifies another person.

You choose how long a post remains live, from one hour to one month. When that period ends, the intention and all associated reactions are permanently deleted automatically. Expired posts are not kept as an archive.

Abuse prevention and reactions

The board stores a random device code in your browser. Supabase receives only a one-way hash of that code, used to limit repeated submissions and allow one prayer reaction per device per intention. It is not tied to your name, email, precise location, or an account. Submission rate-limit records are deleted after one hour; reaction records are deleted with their intention.

Submitted text is automatically checked for abusive, hateful, threatening, explicit, exploitative, and spam content, as well as links and contact details. Automated filtering can make mistakes and should not be treated as a guarantee that every public post is safe or appropriate.

Country information

A country is optional and is selected manually. PocketPrayers stores only the selected two-letter country code. We do not infer or publish a country from an IP address, and we do not collect precise location for the intentions board.

Optional website analytics

If you allow analytics, the website uses Microsoft Clarity to understand visits and navigation through interaction data such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, device and browser information, and session recordings. This helps us improve the website. Clarity analytics is not loaded until you choose “Allow analytics,” and advertising storage remains disabled. You can change your choice at any time using “Analytics choices” in the website footer. Microsoft processes this analytics data under its own privacy terms.

Your choices

Allow or decline optional website analytics and change that choice later.
Leave the name and country blank to post as Anonymous from Country not shared.
Avoid posting sensitive personal or third-party information.
Choose the shortest useful expiry period.
Do not use the board for emergency, medical, legal, or safeguarding help.

Children’s privacy

The public intentions board is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian can contact us to request prompt removal if needed.

Changes and governing law

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. This policy and use of PocketPrayers are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland.
