Easter House Blessing

Gather as a family (roommates, friends, relatives) in any room you desire, with a crucifix present if possible. Yes, you can--and are encouraged to--bless your own home/apartment/condo/dorm room even if a priest isn't available!

All : In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Head: Almighty God and Loving Father of us all, together as a family, we ask you to bless our home so that all our actions, conversations and attitudes towards one another may always be inspired by you and that our home may be protected from all kinds of danger and evil. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

All : Amen.

Head : A Reading from the Gospel according to Saint John (20: 19-22)

All: Glory be to you O Lord!

Head: On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, 'Peace be with you.' When he has said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, 'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.' And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.' This is the Word of the Lord.
