Psalm 46

God is for us a refuge and strength, a helper close at hand in time of distress. So we shall not fear though the earth should rock, though the mountains fall into the depths of the sea.

The floods may rage and foam, though the mountains tremble at their onset. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling of the Most High.

God is within, it shall not fall; God will help it at dawn. The nations rage, kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

Come and see the works of the Lord, the devastations he has wrought on the earth. He makes wars to cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow, shatters the spear, and burns the shields with fire.

“Be still and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.” The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.
